The 4rd Economic Forum of Polish Wood and Furniture
Industry Polwood takes place on 14nd April 2010 at 10.30 am – 3.00 pm in Poznan.

Previous editions of the Economic Forum of Polish Wood and Furniture Industry Polwood in 2007, 2008 and 2009 have brought many answers about the state of wood and furniture industry sector and perspectives of its development.


Honorable guests from Poland and abroad summarized some issues which are very specific for polish economy such as unequal division of raw material, problems with receiving founds for new investments or lack of employees. The organizers: Investor Publishing House and Poznan International Fair have proved that Polwood is an appropriate place for dialogue between timber industries, government representatives, economic analytics and scientists.
The forthcoming event, the 4rd Economic Forum of Polish Wood and Furniture Industry Polwood 2010 takes place on14th April 2008 at 10.30 – 3.00 in pavilion 11 in Poznan

Using the last year\'s experience we want to enrich this year\'s edition with elements which will make us more sufficient in exchanging information between the main actors of the
market.
The Forum Polwood is dedicated to all the people involved in development of Polish wood and furniture industry. The invitations is sent to the decision persons and owners of the
companies in the wood and furniture industry. In the event will take part:
  • the authorities and members of trade associations and Rother organizations
  • the representatives of scientific institutions,
  • presidents, directors and owners of companies acting on the wood and furniture industry market
  • the representatives of The State Forests, Organization and foresters
  • ministers, the representatives of authorities whose activity is connected with wood and furniture industry sector.

PROGRAM

The Polwood Forum is divided to two discussion panels: first dedicated to wood industry, second to the furniture industry main problems. In each of the panels the experts in their
sectors will take part. They will give us the opinion about the findings of the reaserch and will take part in the discussion. 

  • 10.00 am - 1 discussion panel – Wood industry 
  • 12.00 am - Polwood Prize for the best investition in the Polish wood industry in 2009
  • 1 pm - 2 discussion panel - Furniture industry
  • 15.00 - Prize for the best investition in the Polish furniture industry in 2009


The Polwood Prize 2010

The whole world is looking at polish wood and furniture industry as the global market\'s key player. Not only the huge companies, but also small enterpraises take part in the intensiva developement of this sector of economy. Those few years of membership in European Union and the profit which we gained has brought us New production standards and the equal chances on the common market.

On the closure of 4rd Economic Forum of Polish Wood and Furniture Industry Polwood 2010 the Polwood statuette for the Best investition of the 2009 year will be presented. The Polwood Prize is the prestige distinction of the wood and furniture industry leader, who is the role model. The winner will be selected out of the group of companies nominated by the representatives of each sector, according to economic and social criteria.

The Polwood Prize has been created on the initiative of the people deeply interested in promotion of the good examples in business solutions as well as the development of wood and furniture industry in Poland. Our aim is to show and to promote the highest standards of management and the innovative of enterprises.


The aim of the Polwood Prize

Polwood Prize rewards companies acting on Polish market of Wood and furniture industry, which are examples that should be followed, examples that set directions and trends on the fields of management, development and innovative actions. The Polwood Prize should award the company that distinguishes itself not only with achieving the high economic results, but also acting according to the rules of social responsibility of business. Among many criteria, the chapter considered the cooperation with different groups of interests and actions protecting the environment. This competition aims to encourage the companies to face the highest standards in business. The nomination itself is a is a prestigious event for the company as nomination is appointed by the trade associations and the scientific organizations.
